1. 우선 양쪽 차량 모두 시동을 끕니다.

2. 빨간 색 점프선을 방전된 차량 배터리의 (+) 단자에 연결합니다.

3. 반대 쪽 빨간 색 점프선은 도와주러 온 차량 배터리의 (+) 단자에 연결합니다.

4. 검정 색 점프선을 도와주러 온 차량 배터리의 (-) 단자에 연결합니다.

5. 반대 쪽 검정 색 점프선은 방전된 차량의 깨끗하고 페인트가 칠해져 있지 않은 금속 부분에 연결합니다.

 ( 방전된 차량의 (-) 단자에 연결해서는 절대 안 됩니다. )

6. 도와주러 온 차량의 시동을 켜 2~3 분간 그대로 놔둡니다.

7. 방전된 차량의 시동을 켭니다.

8. 반대 순서로 점프선 연결을 모두 제거합니다.

9. 방전된 차량은 배터리가 충분히 충전될 수 있도록, 시동을 끄지 말고 30분 정도 그대로 켜둡니다.
